Kulgam Police Apprehends Drug Peddler at Qazigund; Heroin like contraband substance Recovered

Kulgam : Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Kulgam Police apprehended a drug peddler during routine naka checking at main road upper bazar area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Qazigund.
The accused has been identified as Umar Manzoor Malla son of Manzoor Ahmad Malla, a resident of Qaimoh, Kulgam.
During the checking, police recovered *4.6 gram of Heroin*-like substance from his possession. The contraband was seized on the spot in accordance with legal procedures, and the accused was taken into custody.
In this connection, FIR No. 184/2026 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Qazigund, and investigation has been set into motion to ascertain the source and intended destination of the contraband.
Kulgam Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs and appeals to the public to continue supporting the police by sharing information about drug-related activities in their areas.
