Anantnag Admin Issues Advisory On Rumours Of Fuel Shortage
Urges Citizens To Avoid Panic, Rely On Official Information

ANANTNAG, MARCH 25: The District Administration Anantnag has issued an urgent public advisory urging residents not to pay heed to rumours circulating on social media about shortages of essential commodities, particularly petrol, diesel, and cooking gas.
Officials clarified that there is no shortage of fuel or LPG supplies in the district. Adequate stocks are available at all authorized outlets, including those operated by Indian Oil Corporation, ensuring uninterrupted services for the public.
The administration emphasized that misinformation can lead to unnecessary panic and disrupt normal supply chains. Citizens have been advised to avoid panic buying and rely only on verified information issued through official government channels.
In its appeal, the administration stated that all essential commodities are being monitored through designated control rooms which are manned by senior officers and officials from concerned departments. Supply lines remain fully functional and residents are encouraged to rely only on official information and not to pay heed to any rumours. The advisory further solicits cooperation from the general public so that calm and order are maintained in the district.
Authorities further warned that spreading false information may invite legal action and urged the public to act responsibly during this time.
“There is no need for concern. Supplies are sufficient and services are running smoothly, the administration reassured".
