Kulgam, Apr 20: Feroz Ahmad Shah on Monday stated that no bill regarding the proposed Hill District status has been introduced in the Assembly, and assured that he would strongly defend the interests of his constituency if such a move is made.

The remarks came as the MLA visited the Kund area of Qazigund, where he attended a public meeting-cum-joining programme.

A large number of locals participated in the event and highlighted various concerns related to development, basic amenities, and public welfare. Addressing the gathering, Shah said that public issues are being taken seriously, adding that some grievances were resolved on the spot, while others will be addressed on a priority basis.

Speaking on the Hill District proposal, Shah alleged that certain elements are misleading the public by spreading misinformation. “No such bill has been introduced in the Assembly so far. If any such bill comes forward, I will strongly fight for my Devsar constituency,” he asserted.

The programme also saw several individuals joining Shah, expressing confidence in his leadership and ongoing developmental efforts in the region.
