Petrol Pump Sealed in Kulgam for Violating Norms; DC Reviews Fuel Stock Across District

Kulgam, March 26: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam on Thursday sealed a petrol pump for allegedly putting the dispensing unit dry despite having sufficient fuel stock available at the filling station.

The action was taken during an inspection drive led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, who visited several filling stations across the district to assess the availability and distribution of fuel amid rising public concern.

During the inspection, Fast Track Filling Station was found violating norms by keeping the pump dry despite having petrol in stock. Taking serious note of the violation, the DC ordered the immediate sealing of the outlet and directed registration of an FIR against the operator.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that there are a total of 21 filling stations functioning across Kulgam district and issued a stern warning to all operators to strictly adhere to norms and ensure smooth supply of fuel to the public. He cautioned that any violation would invite strict action.

Meanwhile, amid the ongoing tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran, panic has gripped people across the globe regarding a possible fuel shortage. However, the UT administration has already issued an advisory assuring that sufficient fuel stock is available for up to 74 days, urging the public not to panic or indulge in hoarding.
