Kulgam, March 25: In a bid to streamline traffic mobility, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today chaired a high-level meeting of officers to review and strengthen traffic decongestion measures in Kulgam town.

The meeting saw participation from SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), DySP Traffic, Tehsildar Kulgam, and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, the DC conducted a detailed assessment of traffic management strategies, focusing on congestion-prone areas, bottlenecks, and busy market stretches. He stressed the urgent need for coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure smooth vehicular and pedestrian movement across the town.

He directed officers to remove encroachments from footpaths immediately, enabling citizens to move freely and safely.

He further instructed a crackdown on illegal parking and unauthorized occupation of public spaces that worsen traffic congestion.
